Design and Build Quality

At first glance, the XROS looks similar to the Caliburn. It has a similar shape and design, even down to the fire button and LED placement. The XROS pod mod stands 112mm tall, 23mm wide, and 13mm thick so it is slightly taller and chunkier than the Caliburn, as well as many pen-style vape devices on the market. Nonetheless, it is not a big device, it is still compact and lightweight so you can fit it into the tiniest of pockets with ease.

XROS Pod Mod by Vaporesso Review

The XROS is made of stainless steel that makes it durable and corrosion-resistant. The paint finish also adds to the beauty, and since you can choose from 12 different color options, you get to have your device just how you want it to look.

On the front of the device is a single, round fire button that is firm and feels good. Under the button is an LED that serves as a battery level indicator. The fire button is there because the XROS features a dual ignition mode. You can either use the button to activate the batteries when you want to vape, or you can just draw on the mouthpiece directly like an actual cigarette.

On the opposite side of the fire button is the airflow control system, featuring an airflow control slider. It is a small knob and three vertical slots. Once you adjust the slider, it stays put and does not accidentally move while you vape. With the slider, the airflow can be fully open, fully closed, or anywhere in between.

Battery Capacity

Inside the stainless-steel chassis is an 800mAh built-in battery that carries enough power to keep you vaping for well over a day depending on how frequently you vape. The battery charges through a type-C micro USB port located at the bottom of the device. It charges much faster than regular micro USB ports and can recharge the batteries from zero to full in about 60 minutes.

The LED on the front face lights up when you take a draw and while charging the device. It shows green when the battery is above 70%, blue when the battery is between 70% and 30%, and red when the battery is below 30%.

Ejuice Pods

You get two pods inside the package: a 1.2ohm Mesh pod, and a 0.8ohm Mesh pod. Each pod carries about 2ml of ejuice. They are both pretty standard pods and are easy to differentiate thanks to the resistance rating below each pod. The pods are clear so it is easy for you to monitor your ejuice level. They sit at the top of the XROS battery and are held securely in place by a pair of magnets so they do not wobble while you vape.

At the top of each pod is the mouthpiece that is slightly rounded so it feels comfortable in your mouth. The mouthpiece is a covering, once you pull it off, you can access the fill port. Simply push the mouthpiece to the side to pull it off and fill in your tank.

How It Performs

The 1.2ohm pod fires at 11 watts. The vapor is warm, even with the airflow completely open. At first, it starts as a warm mouth-to-lung draw. It gets much warmer as you restrict the airflow. The flavor production is also quite impressive which may be as a result of the mesh coil.

The 0.8ohm pod performs much like the 1.2ohm pod. It is still a warm but loose mouth-to-lung draw with the airflow open. The vapor also gets warmer and the draw gets tighter as you close down the airflow. The flavor is significantly battery but that might be since it fires at 16 watts.

The cloud production of both coils is good. They are not for cloud chasing vapers, but they produce a decent amount to still keep things interesting.

The flavor is pretty good, just the same as the warmness of the vapor and the airflow. The XROS pod mod is no doubt the best vape starter kit for mouth-to-lung vapers.
